Group 4 gets invited for lunch May 15, 2011

On the afternoon of May 15th at 2:22 pm Luzerne County 911 dispatched HFD to a stove fire at 656 Pardee St. Chief 3 arrived to find a two story single family home with smoke showing from the rear first floor windows. As he entered the home there was a pan burning on the stove that had already extended to the microwave and a thick black smoke condition. The fire was extinguished with a PW extinguisher and the pan removed from the home. As the rest of the crews arrived they controlled the utilities to the kitchen and checked for extension. Ladder crews ventilated to home of smoke. The fire is listed as accidental due to unattended cooking. There were no injuries at the time of the fire, and all occupants were allowed to return to the home.
